Philadelphia art-folk duo @ — Victoria Rose and Stone Filipczak — released their first album for 4AD on 16 October. Autosmile expands the pair's acclaimed debut Mind Palace Music with eleven songs that blend haunting folk textures, progressive flourishes and indie-pop hooks. Recorded largely at home with friends on cello, violin and drums, the record transforms intimate methods into something lush and immersive. The title track, which runs nearly seven minutes, is built around acoustic guitars and serves as the lead single with an official video. Other highlights include the nostalgic "I Know You Are (But What Am I Thinking)" and the intricately arranged "Punish My Mind." The album explores themes of change, self-reflection, loss and acceptance, with lyrics that remain deliberately open-ended. Available now on Soil Brown vinyl, CD and digital through 4AD and Bandcamp.
