The Obelisk spotlights Colour Haze's Tempel in a Friday Full-Length feature

Colour Haze

The Obelisk has published a full-length feature on Tempel, the eighth album by German stoner-rock band Colour Haze, first released in 2006 on Elektrohasch. The piece follows the record's 49-minute arc across two vinyl sides, from opener "Aquamaria" to closer "Stratofarm", and documents the sessions at Hannover's Institut Fur Wohlklangforschung with engineer Willi Dammeier, with band leader Stefan Koglek producing. Bassist Philipp Rasthofer and drummer Manfred Merwald complete the trio, and Christian Hawellek adds organ on "Mind" and "Gold & Silver". Twenty years on, the feature treats Tempel as a step in Colour Haze's continuing development rather than a relic, after earlier full-lengths on the band's 2005 self-titled album and Los Sounds de Krauts. The official "Tempel" audio streams on Colour Haze's YouTube Topic channel via Elektrohasch distributor The Orchard.
