Swedish sludge-doom trio Firebreather have released the new track Only In The Eyes Of Others — the first single from their forthcoming fourth album Blood That I Spill Turns To Fire. The premiere took place on 24 September via the Outlaws of the Sun blog, backed by Purple Sage PR and Heavy Psych Sounds Records. The album is due 16 October on Heavy Psych Sounds on LP, CD and digital.

Firebreather formed in Gothenburg in 2016 and have issued three full-lengths to date: a self-titled debut on Suicide Records (2018) and two albums on RidingEasy Records — Under A Blood Moon and Dwell In The Fog (2019). The new material was recorded at Studio Underjord with Joona, the band aiming for a deliberately raw, dirty sound. Drummer Tommy Hanning, who played on the debut album, returned for the session. The current lineup is Mattias Nööjd (guitar, vocals), Jacob Madetoja (bass) and Joakim Olsson (drums).

The tracklist for Blood That I Spill Turns To Fire runs: Only In The Eyes Of Others, El Cuervo, Blood That I Spill Turns To Fire, The Sorrow Hides, Protector Of Realm, Against The Light, Shrines. The title track and Shrines were issued earlier as singles with official videos on the Heavy Psych Sounds Records channel; the new video for Only In The Eyes Of Others continues that series.

Firebreather remain committed to heavy, groove-laden sludge with doom weight, in a vein that will appeal to followers of High On Fire, Monolord, Conan and Mastodon. The single premiere and album announcement mark a notable moment for the European sludge/doom scene heading into autumn 2026.
