North Carolina duo Sixyearhex — Rob Broyhill (guitar, vocals) and Derrick Brown (drums, vocals) — will release their debut album Liminal Space Cadet on 13 November 2026. The eight-song, 34-minute record follows the 2024 EP Under The Glow and this year's singles “When the Darkness Shines,” “All is Well,” “Original Sin” and the Weedeater cover “God Luck and Good Speed.” The Obelisk premieres the video for “Control” today, 20 October 2026. Sixyearhex describe the music as catchy hooks built on gravelly crunch and soaring riffs, with early Queens of the Stone Age and Mark Lanegan hints in the grooves. Heavy rock with psychedelic texture — not a claim to reinvent the genre, but a confident first statement from a duo that knows what it is about. Stream and preorder via the Sixyearhex Bandcamp page.
