The Vintage Caravan announce final extensive European tour for the foreseeable future

The Vintage Caravan

Icelandic progressive rock trio The Vintage Caravan have announced what they describe as their last extensive tour for the foreseeable future. After two decades as a band and more than twelve years of near-constant touring — close to 100 shows per year — the group will play 18 dates across Portugal, Spain, France, Belgium, Germany and the Netherlands in November 2026.

The tour begins 31 October in Lisbon and wraps with a newly added second Düsseldorf show on 18 November, the first date having sold out. The band's statement cites mental strain from the relentless schedule: "We have pushed ourselves over the edge in the past and we felt we were getting close again. We want to keep on playing for our fans, but we need to enjoy it and not risk breaking ourselves mentally."

Their most recent album, Portals (2025, Napalm Records), featured guest vocals from Mikael Åkerfeldt (Opeth) on opening track "Philosopher" and further guest appearances from Eybor Ingi Gunnlaugsson and Valdís Eiriksdottir. The record expanded their psychedelic-progressive sound with flute, Hammond organ and Farfisa textures alongside the core power-trio attack.

The band emphasises this is not a breakup — they will continue to play shows in Iceland — but the era of constant international touring is on hold. Tickets are available via the band's official website.
