Former Shivaree frontwoman Ambrosia Parsley, now recording as Ambassador Parsley, has teamed with songwriter and producer Chris Maxwell (The Elegant Too, work with Jon Spencer, Ray Davies, Iggy Pop) for a new project: Ambassador Parsley and the Lying Hearts Club. Their debut EP Reseda arrives 30 October, previewed by the single 'Ride 'em Cowboy' with an accompanying video. The song comes from Parsley's family repertoire — the EP cover features a photograph of her father and his brothers at what appears to be a Christmas gathering. The six-track EP was recorded fast and loose at Maxwell's Goat House Studio over spring 2026, with rhythm section John Valesio and Jeff Bailey joining during lunch breaks. Parsley's distinctive vocal remains the anchor, wrapping a simple country-folk frame around wry, personal storytelling. For followers of Shivaree's psych-tinged pop-noir, Reseda offers a more stripped-back but characteristically sharp return.
