Chinese-born, Berlin-based artist otay:onii (Lane Shi) has given a new interview to Echoes and Dust about her album Love Is in the Shit, released on 8 May 2026 through Pelagic Records. Published on 5 November 2026, the conversation covers her childhood in Haining, her move to Guangzhou, and her idea of sound as breath, chant and incantation. She also reflects on her three-year Roadburn residency, her time with Boston doom band Fórn and The Ocean Collective, and a recent European tour. Echoes and Dust paired the piece with the official video for the album's first single, "No Talent." Echo Mandala reports the interview as published by Echoes and Dust; it is not a first-hand assessment of the recording.
