Acid Mothers Temple & The Melting Paraiso U.F.O.

Archival selection for the Japanese psychedelic rock canon: a live performance of "La Le Lo" by Acid Mothers Temple & The Melting Paraiso U.F.O., uploaded to the Andrés YouTube channel. The track exemplifies the collective's acid-drenched improvisational style, with Kawabata Makoto's guitar weaving through hypnotic motorik rhythms and cosmic synthesizer textures from Higashi Hiroshi. The line-up captures a classic iteration of the group led by Kawabata Makoto (guitar, electronics), with Cotton Casino (vocals, synthesizer), Tsuyama Atsushi (bass, vocals), Higashi Hiroshi (guitar, synthesizer), dual drummers Ichiraku Yoshimitsu and Koizumi Hajime. This performance, recorded in Nagoya on 9 December 2001 and originally released as the limited CD-R AMTCD-006 (2000 copies), was remastered by Kawabata for Bandcamp in 2020. It preserves a foundational document of the Japanese acid-psych underground that later spawned the Guruguru Brain label and influenced acts such as Kikagaku Moyo and Minami Deutsch. Original performance date: 9 December 2001.
