Book of Wyrms sign to Evil Noise Recordings for cassette release of Megacelestial

Richmond, Virginia heavy metal psych quartet Book of Wyrms have signed with Evil Noise Recordings for a limited cassette edition of their forthcoming fourth album Megacelestial. The announcement, published 8 September 2026 on The Obelisk, notes that the cassette deal does not necessarily supersede the band's earlier arrangement with Argonauta Records, which was reported in March 2026.
The first single "Slime Fever" arrived on 30 June 2026, mixed by Rob Wrong of Witch Mountain. The track leans into early-80s metal references — Dio, Judas Priest — while retaining the band's psychedelic foundation built on Hawkwind and ZZ Top influences. A second teaser video for the same track was also published.
Book of Wyrms formed in 2014 around a shared devotion to Hawkwind and ZZ Top. The current lineup comprises Sarah Moore Lindsey (vocals, synthesizers), Kyle Lewis (guitar), Brian Wiltz (drums), and Jay Jake Lindsey (bass). The addition of Wiltz on drums is noted as bringing a new level of intensity and directness to the songwriting.
No release date for Megacelestial has been confirmed beyond "coming soon." The cassette will be a limited edition on Evil Noise Recordings, a label with a strong focus on the format. "Slime Fever" is available for streaming on Bandcamp and major platforms.
