Bright Curse announce third album Fatum for January 2027

French heavy-psych trio Bright Curse will release their third album, Fatum, on 15 January 2027 via Ripple Music. The announcement follows an eight-year gap since Time of the Healer and a complete change in the rhythm section: founding guitarist/vocalist Romain Dautel is joined by new bassist Rory O'Callaghan and drummer Thibault Guezennec. The band says the record keeps their melodic, atmospheric core but feels rawer and more direct. Debut single "The Fates" is already streaming.
Fatum was recorded at Cryogène Studio and mastered at AD Mastering in Bordeaux. The cover is painted by Xavier Jalon Lopez. Digital pre-orders are open on Bandcamp with a December 2026 date, while the band's official site confirms the full vinyl/CD/digital launch as 15 January 2027.
The new lineup reshaped the writing: the band moved away from extended trippy jams toward a more straightforward approach, adding cello and guest female vocals for the first time. On the evidence of "The Fates", Bright Curse are refining rather than reinventing their sound — heavier in delivery, still rooted in the same shadowy psychedelia.
