KANT announce Echoes of Unfortunate Times — third album due October on Sound of Liberation

German heavy psychedelic rockers KANT have announced their third album Echoes of Unfortunate Times, set for 23 October 2026 via Sound of Liberation Records. The announcement arrives with the first single and video "Avalanche", a sharp and uncompromising piece of heavy psych driven by heavy riffs, relentless momentum and a thick wall of fuzz.
Produced, mixed and mastered by Patrick Stäudle with artwork by Manuel Wesely, the eight-track album builds on KANT's heavy psychedelic foundations while venturing further into modern psychedelia, doom and krautrock. Singer and guitarist Marius Seidel calls it "the most honest and emotional album we have written so far." At its core lies a subject that has become increasingly difficult to ignore: fear of the future. Rather than escaping into nostalgia, KANT channel the uncertainty and unease of the present into eight new songs, trading some of the occult atmosphere of 2024's Paranoia Pilgrimage for a more immediate, contemporary and emotionally charged approach.
The band — Marius Seidel (guitar, vocals, flute), Nicolas Jordan (guitar), Elena Strähle (bass) and Bryan Göbel (drums) — formed in Aschaffenburg, Germany and have developed their own take on heavy psychedelic rock drawing from late '60s and '70s sounds while carrying traces of doom, heavy metal and experimental rock. Pre-orders are open via Sound of Liberation's shop.
