The Tokyo krautrock quartet Minami Deutsch performs 'Concrete Ocean' at Freak Valley Festival 2019, recorded for WDR Rockpalast. Released on Bandcamp in April 2018, the track locks motorik repetition into a steady, meditative groove — minimal, patient and heavy in the classic krautrock sense. The Rockpalast archive recording shows the group live: locked-in drums, circling guitar, the piece stretched out in length. A good archival document of one of Japan's most disciplined psychedelic bands.
