Hungarian instrumental trio Slight Layers released Present Unfulfilled via Psychedelic Source Records. The Obelisk's JJ Koczan reviews the six-track, 51-minute album, noting its departure from the label's typical improvised jam approach — the material feels pre-written and rehearsed, with composed melodies and tight changes across jazz-inflected grooves and heavier fuzz passages. Guitarist Dávid Nagy, bassist Bence Ambrus (who also runs Psychedelic Source Records) and drummer Máté Varga shift from cleaner, Mediterranean-tinged guitar lines in "Ivory White" and prog-jazz stylings in "Scutigeridæ" to the distorted stoner rumble of "Twin Leaks" and an 11-minute Hendrixian closing jam. The review emphasizes the palpable chemistry and sense of intention without confirming recording circumstances. Present Unfulfilled is available on the Psychedelic Source Records Bandcamp.
