Stick Men release Let's THRAK Again — first full-length in a decade honours King Crimson's THRAK

Progressive powerhouse Stick Men have released Let's THRAK Again, their first studio album since 2016's Prog Noir. The trio — Tony Levin (Chapman Stick), Pat Mastelotto (drums/percussion) and Markus Reuter (Touch Guitar U8 Deluxe) — arrive 31 years after King Crimson's watershed 1995 album THRAK with a record fully sanctioned by Robert Fripp.
The album exists in two distinct mixes: Reel One (mixed by Stefano Castagna) and Reel Two (mixed by Fabio Trentini), each with its own track sequence. Mastered by Erik Emil Eskildsen, the sessions spanned Kingston NY, Dripping Springs TX and Berlin. Preceding singles "Brutal" and "Komodo" arrived with official videos directed by Jeff Myers; a visualizer for "Swimming in Tea" and a video for "The Well" followed.
Echoes and Dust reviewer Zachary Nathanson writes that the trio "pull out every stop sign in the street, fire up their engines, and hit the road at 900 miles per hour." He highlights the Chapman Stick/Warr Guitar interplay between Levin and Reuter and Mastelotto's hybrid percussion driving the music into "fast-paced, high-temperature territory." The title track nods toward "Fracture" from the Starless era, while "Dark Birthday" channels Neo-Tokyo post-rock before collapsing into Sabbath territory.
Let's THRAK Again is available as 2-CD digipak, double vinyl and a limited Ultimate Collector's Box via Bandcamp and iapetus. A US tour begins in September.
