Los Angeles band Taleen Kali have shared a new single and video for 'Black Rose', featuring Hunter Burgan of AFI on saxophone. The track comes from their second album, 'Aepex', due 26 February 2027 on Dum Dum Records, following the single 'Viper' from September. Kali calls 'Black Rose' the band's dark desert song: pounding drums build towards an ending where everything almost falls apart, with Burgan's saxophone taking turns with the guitars and vocals. She describes it as the group's post-punk take on the idea that 'every L.A. band needs to have a psyched out song'. Recorded at The Cave Studios in Los Angeles with producer Josiah Mazzaschi, it was co-produced by Kali with bassist Miles Marsico and Mazzaschi. The lineup is Kali on vocals and guitar, Genevieve Quiquivix on guitar, Miles Marsico on bass and Ciara DeAlba on drums. Taleen Kali play KCRW's School Night at The Airliner in Los Angeles on 29 October.
