Dead Neanderthals: Echoes and Dust interview on Flesh Is Fragile

Dutch experimental duo Dead Neanderthals released their new album Flesh Is Fragile on 2 October via Utech Records. The six-track record, built entirely from synthesizer and drums, pushes their heavy minimalism further into sludge and funeral doom territory. Echoes and Dust published an extensive interview with Otto Kokke (synthesiser) and René Aquarius (drums, vocals) on 15 October, discussing the album's creation, its bleak lyrical themes around hyper-capitalism and exploitation, and the band's improvisational writing process. The pair describe Flesh Is Fragile as a continuation of their stripped-back direction, composed as fixed pieces but born from improvisation. The album was recorded, mixed and mastered by Marlon Wolterink at White Noise Studio; cover art is by Dread.jpg. The single "a leather body bag for the mass grave called society" is streaming officially via YouTube Music.
