Los Angeles five-piece Drag Talk have announced their debut album Drink The Ocean for 30 October 2026 via MNRK Heavy. The band — Jutty Taylor (vocals), Ross O'Carroll and Matt Ripp Bennett (guitars), Cos Sylvan (bass), Hayden Scott (drums) — formed from long-standing friendships, with Taylor and Scott also having toured with Ghost. After the 2022 Dogs EP and 2024's Rosy Crown, Drink The Ocean expands their shoegaze and '90s alt-rock foundations into dream pop, psychedelia and classic rock territory. The lead single "Pony Up" arrives with an official video directed by the band. The lyrics play with gambling imagery and a striking theological conceit: "God exists and is as cruel, loving, insecure and indifferent as you or I." Notable guests include Brendan O'Brien on Hammond organ (title track) and Olivia Morreale on backing vocals ("Welcome to the Aeon"). Produced by Tom Syrowski, mastered by Billy Joe Bowers. Pre-orders for lavender vinyl (Bandcamp exclusive), CD and digital are open.
