Ruff Majik release new single "Doom Song" ahead of European tour

Ruff Majik

South African heavy rockers Ruff Majik have released a new single, "Doom Song", as they prepare for a European run that includes Oslo's Høstsabbat festival. The track, released in partnership with Sound Of Liberation Records and Hostsabbat, was recorded live across four locations in July 2026 and features a rap-inflected spoken verse and a forceful hook that continues the band's genre-blurring approach.

The Obelisk notes that "Doom Song" is the latest in a succession of singles since the band's 2024 album Moth Eater, following a turbulent period in which they announced a split in 2025 before returning with new material. Whether the single heralds a full-length remains unclear. Mixed by Johni Holiday with engineering by Jacques Scorgie and Kesh Fakir, the song is available now on Bandcamp.

Ruff Majik's lineup: Johni Holiday (vocals, rhythm guitar), Brendon Bez Bezuidenhout (lead guitar), Jimmy Glass (bass), Steven Bosman (drums). Their live reputation, documented in recent European festival appearances, makes the upcoming Høstsabbat set a noteworthy stop for heavy-psych followers.
